ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WPMI) Escambia County High School was placed on lock down Thursday afternoon while deputies searched for a stolen car suspect.

Officials say officers tried to talked with the suspect on Stonehenge Circle, near the school, as he was standing by a car that had been reported stolen. They say the man took off running onto the school campus. Deputies say he quickly blended in with students who were taking part in a fire drill exercise.

The suspect was later found by school employees walking in a hallway. He was arrested and charged with disruption of a school function and resisting arrest without violence.

Felony charges could come on the stolen car as the investigation continues.

The suspect's name is not being released because he is a juvenile.

No injuries were reported. Officials say they don't believe he was armed.
