OCEAN SPRING, Miss. (AP) - The Ocean Springs Board of Alderman has heard discussions about the future of the Harbor Landing property.
The Harbor Commission and attorneys for Albert Duckett and Amanda Kennerly discussed the Harbor Commission proposal on Monday to turn the 1.7 acres of land into a green space park with additional parking for the boat launch area.
The Sun Herald reports the proposal is supported by the Jackson County Board of Supervisors as well.
The state Department of Marine Resources owns the property and had considered swapping the space for land on the Back Bay of Biloxi. DMR already plans to tear down the boat storage shed on the property and is taking bids to have the shed removed.
The Ocean Springs Board of Alderman did not vote on the proposal.
