I was thinking the same thing. I agree that parents need to be more involved in their children's life.

I have questions about this: 1. How did the parent know about the gun in order to report it? 2. Were the bullets in the clip? 3. How did the student obtain access to the gun? 4. Why was the gun passed from one student to another student? 5. Have ALL of the Baldwin County School students/staff (from 1st. through 12th.) been prepped/taught what to do in this kind of situation/emergency. None of these questions were addressed in this news broadcast. My personal opinion: Just increasing the guards & school resource offices and possibly up-grading the laws in order for them to carry weapons, will not solve the problem; neither will gun control laws. Children of school age are SUPPOSED to be under the auspice of parents. Parents NEED to SEARCH their children's book bags, rooms, etc. to reinforce the steps being taken by law enforcement. After all, a parent just MAY be surprised what they MIGHT discover during their search!! Kudos to the parent who reported this.
