Governor Proposes Raises for Teachers, But Teachers Want More

Governor Robert Bentley has big plans for Alabama teachers. He says he wants to give them raises for the first time in years. He made the remark in his state of the state address Tuesday night.

Maybe they want some cheese to go with their whine! I'm sorry but they are state employees and should not be treated any different than other state employees. So their health insurance premiums went up and their retirement plan contribution increased...well, so has everyone else's so don't feel special. If you don't the pay, find something else! As far as buying class supplies, I'd make the school/system spring for that unless there's there's a specific clause in their contract or a portion of the pay is an allowance for supplies.
