(DAPHNE, Ala.) - Daphne's Gator Alley will be getting a facelift of sorts.
Later this year a trail connector and sidewalks will be added to the well known sightseeing spot.
An $80,000 state grant along with local money will pay for the addition which will connect existing trails to restaurants and businesses on the west side of Highway 98.
“Anything that's going to help us you know the economy is in such a crap mode that anything that we can do to help our business we are all for it. Like I said whatever helps the businesses in Daphne will help the City of Daphne also,” says Victor Lejeune with Market by the Bay.
Daphne city officials say the project will go out for bid later this month and construction is expected to begin sometime in March.
