(MONROEVILLE, Ala.) Dec. 7 -- The three young men accused of gang rape are asking for youthful offender status. Steven Scott, Deshon Riley and Justin Williams were in court Monday.
If that youthful offender status is granted, they would face lighter sentences. The three are accused of picking up two 14-year-old girls from Monroeville High School taking them to a home and raping them.
Scott and Williams are charged with two counts of rape. Riley is charged with rape and sodomy. All three remain behind bars.
