MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A funeral is set for a longtime state lawmaker from Mobile who died last week.
Rep. Yvonne Kennedy died Dec. 8 at age 67.
Her funeral will be held Saturday at the Mobile Convention Center. A private burial will follow.
First elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in 1979, Kennedy was among its longer-serving members. She was a former chair of the state's Legislative Black Caucus and previously served as president of Bishop State Community College.
