(MOBILE, Ala.) Funeral arrangements are set for Gil Collar, 18, who was shot and killed early Saturday morning by a University of South Alabama police officer. Collar was a freshman from Wetumpka, Ala.

Police say he was naked, assumed a fighting stance and charged a police officer several times around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. The officer shot and killed Collar.

A visitation will be held for Collar Saturday, Oct. 13 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church in Wetumpka. Funeral services will follow.

USA Police have turned an internal investigation of the incident over to the Mobile County District Attorney's Office and the Mobile County Sheriffs Office. Officials do say there is video of the entire incident. The D.A.'s office has a copy of that video.

I certainly would be questioning James Kirkland, Collar's friend and find out where and who he got the drugs if he was on drugs. Picture yourself on the job, midnight shift and all is quiet. Suddenly a naked man appears and bangs on the window of your post and is acting crazy, you go out to investigate the commotion and the naked man attempts to attack you. Your job and life just changed forever when you had to pull your weapon and stop the unknown person that could have alreay hurt or killed someone else. Who fault is all this? The USA Campus Police Officer that was just waiting for his shift to end and go home and rest or the person that decided to shed his clothes, approach a Police building and act like a fool? Please lay the blame where it belongs, on the deceased!!!! The USA Officer never sought out the crazy and eratic acting person and initiated trouble, the person sought out the Officer doing his job while on his job. This wussified country thinks that everyone is a victim no matter what, even when they are the aggressor and instigator that starts trouble and problems. Personal responsibility is disappearing fast in the country, and nobody is being held accountable any longer for their own actions, even if those idiotic actions causes them to die. My sympathy is for the USA Police Officer, who now has to deal with a lifetime of the emotions and trauma of killing a person that he deemed dangerous to himself and perhaps others in a split second of decision making time.

So I guess you were there nume52? Cause if you weren't you have NO idea if the young student attacked the officer? Hmmm think before you judge.

So, the University of South Alabama police are so inept that they can't subdue and handcuff an unarmed college freshman? ... Maybe they need to implement some physical fitness standards so deadly force won't have to be such a convenient alternative to them actually breaking a sweat.

Its sad this accident had to happen, but when a grown man attacks someone naked and repeatldy told to back down by a police officer he is either on PCP or crack or something that me him think he was invincible and it cost him his life, very sad !
