MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) - At the Abba Shrine Temple, the more the line outside moved, the more people kept coming.
"I think its wonderful, it's a great celebration of the 2nd Amendment and people to exercise their constitutional rights and I'm real proud of everybody that's here," gun owner Joe Kulakowski said.

Many people came with guns in hand for a gun show, while others hoped to leave with the same. "I came here to buy as many guns and as many bullets as I can get because Obama's taking the rights away from us," Frank Williams said.

His feeling was common among folks who showed up; fearing the push by President Obama for tougher gun laws after the Sandy Hook tragedy would only hurt people who already follow existing laws.

"Its less about protecting our children and more about attacking the 2nd Amendment," Carmen Lilly said.

This week, Vice President Joe Biden held wide ranging meetings seeking input for the Gun Violence Task Force. One suggestion: new technology could help. "There's a lot could change if, for example, every gun purchased could only be fired by the person who purchased it," Biden said.

Meanwhile, at the gun show, people had no problem sharing their frustration with the White House's efforts. "The king is doing pretty much what he wants so far, we'll just see how far he can go," Billy McClain said, referring to Obama.

"With his presidential signature, he thinks he can do anything, he's not going to become the King of the United States, we're not going to let him," Willams added, "The South will rise again if it has to."

For the crowd filling Abba Shrine, the only solution to gun violence is to keep exercising their 2nd Amemdment rights.

"I think it's horrible to blame a gun for other problems in this country," another gun owner said.

Yes indeed my Username is certainly outdated as of Monday January 7th,2013. There is a good chance that your Username (CT15) also could be outdated in less than a year too. :)

Read this.... This is not about guns and violence, it's about dismantling the US Constitution piece by piece as we all know it. A few select liberals with the assistance of the liberal media wants this country to be takened down to 3rd world status and they won't stop until they do. All this was supposedly caused by the latest Conneticutt school massacre and why did the the idiot kill those 26 babies? The media attention that he would get as the killer of children. I presume that he never hated children since he was one at one time, yet he carefully selected a p[lace and kids that couldn't fight back so he could succeed in his massacre. All this violence is driven by a thirst for media and fame, and why would a person seek fame? Their lives are worthless and their only help to be remembered is to cause an event that would leave his name and act as a lasting horrible legacy. Notice how the media and internet has driven this latest tragedy, where the entire media and the talking heads try and make a name for themselves and promote their networks and blogs by reporting everything about this even if they simply report the killer's name wrong in the begining. Look at the roots of the violence, internet, media, ratings, sponsors, and quest for career advancement. Guns are not the cause of violence, the media sensationalizing it and promoting it by airing it nonstop 24-7. These school shooting and movie theatre shootings would have never happened if not for 24-7 media and the internet instilling the violence and quest for attention to the future idiots that use the media and internet to make a name for themselves and promote them as the latest villain. Look deeper into the problem and you'll see that all this is an attempt to eliminate the US Constitution and diminish America as an exceptional country by people that secretly hate it and everything it stands for. It's not just guns and violence, it is seeking immoral and sinful lifestyles that are also their agendas.

Hee, Hee, The south will rise again. I like that. Needless to say, the odds today would be on the Southern side. Just remember this: Southern boys know how to live in woods and feed off the land. Yuppie Yanks just open thier Campbells Soup, Nuke it and go play on a computer. With that being said, this "Gun Control" subject will be the dumbocrats downfall should they even attempt to modify the second amendment.

Looks at though we have a couple with their head buried up their rump-komiic and little sausage need to pull their heads out and clean out their eyes and ears. They both have a crappy outlook. BTW, If the South does rise again???....it will probably be a few more states this time.....like maybe 42! And the National Guard (state militia) has far more men that the regular military. Just think about it a moment.

People seem to forget that there is more to the 2nd Amendment than just "the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." As a matter of fact that part is the last part which follows the phrase "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State," which seems to indicate it was the primary justification for the second part. Where are these "well regulated Militia" that are given the right to "keep and bear Arms"? Lest ye forget, the whole 2nd Amendment as passed by Congress reads "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." As ratified by the States and authenticated by Thomas Jefferson, Secretary of State it reads "A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed." I'm not sure how the addition or omission of the comma between "Militia" and "being" along with the case of the first letter of "state" or "State" affects the meaning so I'll leave it to an English Major to clarify.

Too funny. The way to curb gun violence is to buy more guns. The way to curb drug use would then be to buy more drugs. Fight alcoholism? Buy more alcohol. I just love how the uneducated attempt to justify their behaviour with the most ridiculous arguments. "I listened to FOX and they said that the sky was falling! I need a tin-foil hard hat!" As I said, highly amusing.

Looks like Bubba and his Harley made it to the convention meeting this time. Everyone is getting on the band wagon in defense of "OUR RIGHTS". "GOOD", maybe this will send a sign to NObama and Biden and the rest of the elected officials that would like to see a dictatorship instead of a Democracy.

Well said NRA. kimimc, speaking of uneducated...your first remark is a question, yet you have the improper punctuation mark. "Yeah right and get its ass handed to them" needs a comma after right and "its" and "them" are pronouns referring to the same noun (South). South is not a plural noun so therefore them is wrong is more ways than one, tsk tsk. Why are "Wack", "Guns" and "Racists" capitalized??? I read the article 3 times to see where anything about race was mentioned. I just can't find it!! And, I had no idea that people in the South are the only ones that buy guns! Silly me!

kimiic. I would be willing to bet I held a job a one place longer than you did. My degree is probably better and harder to earn than yours was. Fox is not fake. We can thank CBS for the likes of the liar Dan Rather. The last time the South rose it had no real industrial base. Even without it the South almost took Washington. The tables have turned. The North is now the rust belt. Detroit is a half empty shell, Chicago is a war zone, Washington is a "duck and cover" city with a bad track record for corrupt politics. The President wishes to rule by edict not legislation. He seeks to subvert Congress and the Constitution. Notice I said "the" President not "my" President. My President would not bow to a foreign king. This President did. CBS, NBC, ABC and CNN are the mouthpieces of the Liberal Democratic party. By your comments about the South, I get the sense you are from the North. Please note that I-65 heads north. I suggest you make good use of it since you obviously detest the South.
