(SATSUMA, Ala.) May 20 - A former Satsuma police officer is out of a job after a sexual harassment investigation.

Authorities say Cpl. Gary Mauldin resigned after the chief of the Satsuma Police Department asked him to participate in a disciplinary hearing.

Chief David Benefield says three women complained that Mauldin had made inappropriate sexual comments to them. Benefield says people always say that things are happening, and investigations can be hard to do. But, Benefield says the department conducted an investigation and the allegations were found credible.

Mauldin had been with the Satsuma Police Department for four years. Before joining the force in Satsuma, Mauldin was an officer in Mount Vernon.

Chief Benefield says the investigation is still ongoing.
