There is some tax trouble for hundreds of thousands of people who filed tax returns with H&R Block.
The nation's largest tax preparer admitted it made a mistake related to Form 8863 for the Educational Tax Credit. H&R Block said the filing problem impacts some 600,000 customers who filed between February 14 and February 22.
The IRS continues to process effected returns but those returns will be delayed because of the process necessary to correct the errors.
The filing error and delay is also creating concern among college students applying for financial aid, which requires tax information.
So far, H&R Block has not said whether is plans to offer rebates or other compensation to those filers impacted.
