(MOBILE, Ala.) - There's pain and disbelief in the Five Points neighborhood where James "Franklin" Dean grew up.
"It's hurt my heart, it hurts so bad he was a good boy," said a neighbor. Many described the Dean, 19, a graduate of Murphy High as a well-mannered Christian who never got into to any trouble.
USA police found Dean stabbed to death in the Delta 6 Dorm on USA's campus Sunday morning.
Authorities say on that morning they received a frantic 911 call from Brandon Ajizadeh saying, a USA student, saying that his roommate had been hurt and was bleeding. When campus police arrived they say they found Ajizadeh standing there, and that he had cuts on his hands. Police say Ajizadeh later confessed to the killing.
Family and friends of Dean tell LOCAL 15 News they're still waiting for answers on why it happened.
Police say the relationship between the victim and suspect isn't clear but LOCAL 15 News had learned that both Ajizadeh and Dean attended Murphy High.
Ajizadeh has been charged with murder. He's scheduled to be in court Tuesday morning for a bond hearing.
