(IRVINGTON, Ala.) - A Fairhope-native and USA Graduate took the checkered flag Saturaday afternoon at Mobile International Speedway in the 2nd Annual ARCA Mobile 200.
It is Grant Enfinger's first win in the ARCA Mobile 200 at Mobile International Speedway. Finishing second in the field of 26 racers was 15-year-old Kyle Benjamin, who is the youngest driver in ARCA Racing Series history.
"It's definitely special to come out here in front of the home crowd and pull off a win," Enfinger said. "We've finished too many seconds and thirds, but, to finally pull off a win today, is definitely special and it's definitely special to be in front of the home crowd."
Darline Jones said Enfinger's win especially sweet for her, having watched Enfinger race even in the rough times.
"It makes the racing a lot more interesting," Jones said. "It does. I know Grant very well. We've watched him for years. His mother was with us so we enjoyed it a lot."
The heart-stopping speeds of track racing were enough for race fans from all over to spend the Saturday afternoon in Irvington.
"Brings a lot of people out," T.J. Hewett. "It brings a lot of people locally around, a lot of people out of state, out of country."
"It's been a good race," Lee Wade said. "I like the way they keep the race going."
