(ALEXANDER CITY, Ala.) Authorities are searching for a Talladega man who escaped from a facility in eastern Alabama.

Officials say 21 year old Joseph Lee Rainey escaped from the Alexander City Community Based Facility around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. State corrections officials say a head count was conducted about an hour before he went missing.

Rainey is serving a two year sentence stemming from charges in Talladega County, and a possible parole hearing was scheduled for Dec. 20. Details on the crime Rainey committed were not immediately available.

Rainey is white, 6 feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair.

Alexander City is about 55 miles north of Montgomery, in Tallapoosa County.
