(Daphne, Ala.) June 29 - Police say two teens are responsible for a drive-by shooting in Daphne's TimberCreek neighborhood.
The shooting happened last Thursday night. Police say 17-year-old John Reid shot at a teenager standing in front of his High Court home six times with .22 caliber pistol. The teenager was not hurt. Police say 19-year-old Charles Rudolph was driving the get away car. Both are charged with attempted murder.
"We're very fortunate no one got hurt," said Lt Jud Beedy.
Investigators say the teens all knew each other. Police say the shooting happened after the teens had a fight over girls.
"The two groups were arguing and having harsh words towards each other, and it just escalated to a shooting," said Beedy.
Some residents of TimberCreek said they were upset that police waited four days to release information about the shooting.
"My first reaction is that I was disturbed not to hear about it, and it happened several days ago," said Janice Gassenmeyer.
Police say they waited to release information because they did not want to taint witness description. Police said they also did not want the suspects to move out of the area.
Police say more teens may be charged in the shooting for lying to investigators.
