Destin was selected for Travel Channel's contest.
The many fishing options, along with sites like HarborWalk Village and the Gulfarium were highlighted.
Destin easily beat out Outer Banks, N.C., Paradise Island in the Bahamas and Cape Cod in Massachusetts.
