(MOBILE, Ala.) - Local agencies came together Sunday to help folks this holiday season who have lost a loved one to violence.

The idea is to help victims and their families get over that trauma.

It's hard to spend the holidays without loved ones, especially those who were lost to an act of violence.

These agencies are aiming to make that transition a little easier.

"(We) make these services available to anyone who has been a victim of violence, to help them get through these holidays, the holiday seasons in the future," said Tony Dickey with Disaster and Victim Services International.

There was also a "Proclamation of Support" Sunday for those to sign. The Disaster and Victim Services International said it's a way to show support for our law enforcement.
