DAPHNE, Ala. (WPMI) Daphne Mayor Bailey Yelding is taking a medical leave of absence.
Mayor Yelding made the announcement last week. Daphne City Attorney Jay Ross said Yelding is suffering from cancer and is believed to be in Hospice care.
City Council President Ron Scott will officially take over as acting mayor Tuesday. He will remain as Council President and serve as acting mayor.
Yelding's leave is indefinite.
