(MOBILE, Ala.) The Mobile County District Attorneys Office says it expects toxicology results in the Gil Collar shooting investigation soon.

The 18-year-old University of South Alabama freshman from Wetumpka was shot to death in October by campus Police Officer Trevis Austin. Mobile County Sheriffs deputies believe Collar was on LSD when he was acting erratically and charged the officer several times. Evidence shows Collar may have gotten the drug while attending BayFest in downtown Mobile that weekend.

There is video of the incident caught on police department surveillance cameras. That video was shown to the media and to investigators with Montgomery law firm Beasley-Allen, who are representing Collar's family.

University officials say Austin had pepper spray and a baton at his disposal at the time of the shooting. The D.A.'s office plans to present the case to a Grand Jury.

University officials say officer Austin remains on administrative leave pending the outcome of the external review by the D.A.
