(MOBILE, Ala.) July 2 - Beat 24 of Mobile's second precinct are quiet, residential areas with well-manicured yards, but over a four week span, these areas including Windmill Court, Fairfield Place, Panorama and Raines Drive have been hit over and over again in broad daylight.

Cpl. Charles Bagsby says it appears the break-ins happened at vacant residences where the owners were not at home, and the residences were left unattended.

Mobile police say the burglars are busting in through the back doors of the homes and stealing things that can be turned into quick cash including TVs, computers, iPods and GPS systems.

Bagsby says people should stay vigilant and be aware of strangers in their neighborhoods.

Police also say people should set their alarms, change-up their daily routines and report any type of suspicious activities to authorities.
