(MOBILE, Ala.) The Mobile City Council approved a $5.1 million loan Tuesday to buy new police cruisers, fire trucks and garbage trucks for the city.
With the approval the city plans to buy 70 new police cars and replace two ladder trucks for the fire department. The money is expected to also buy new garbage trucks for the public works department.
