(TUSCALOOSA, Ala.) Alabama workers who butcher wild game say cold weather since Christmas has helped deer hunting get back on track in the state.
The Tuscaloosa News reports deer processors say their business was hurting as temperatures remained in the 70s earlier this month. But a more seasonal cold snap is sending more hunters to their doors.
William Bambarger of Wild Game Processing in Eutaw says he expects to surpass more than 1,000 deer this season, as he did last year.
Darrell Cook of Stump Hollow Deer Processing in Greensboro agrees. He says deer hunters are "bringing them in right and left" since the weather cooled.
