MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) The City of Mobile is set to dedicate a new children's park in Mobile Terrace Saturday.
The ceremony began at 1:30 p.m. at Lincoln Boulevard and 13th Street.
City officials say it's the final fulfillment to the citizens from the City of Mobile when Mobile Terrace was annexed in 2007.
"When the people of Mobile Terrace were asked to support the annexation," said council member Gina Gregory, "they had a list of needs that they say, ok city we'll consider coming in to the city of Mobile but we have these things that we need, now how can you help us? So everything we promised, we've done."
Officials say the city has also made good on other promises to the denizens of that community in the form of a police precinct, installation of street lights and paved roads.
This is the first park for the Mobile Terrace community.
