MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Officials have tallied the total cost for the Carnival Triumph docking in the Port City.
A preliminary report shows the city incurred a cost of $74,885. That includes the terminal wharf age, police, fire/rescue and public services. An invoice from the city was submitted to Carnival Friday.
The cruise liner experienced a fire in the engine room which caused the ship to lose power. It floated in the Gulf of Mexico for days before it was towed to Mobile's Cruise Terminal.
The investigation into that fire continues. The U.S. Coast Guard, National Transportation Safety Board and the Bahamas Maritime Authority are working together to figure out what happened.
The damaged Carnival Triumph was towed to BAE Systems where crews will assess the damage.
