MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) A judge denied a request to move the trial surrounding a woman accused of throwing a puppy from a balcony.

Twenty-one-year-old Kendria Dexter is charged with animal cruelty.

She was arrested March 2012, after police say she threw the puppy from a third story balcony of an apartment complex following an argument with her roommate.

The dog survived and has been adopted by a family out of state.

Dexter requested youthful offender status, but was denied.
