(MOBILE, Ala.) March 12 -- Mobile County District Attorney John Tyson Jr. announced major cuts to his budget.

Tyson says the state cut $35,000 a month, potentially compromising the operations of his office.

He is getting help from the Mobile County Commissioners, who gave him enough money to make up the shortfall for three months.

Tyson said without the emergency funds he would have had to cut at least 10 staff members.

He says he hopes federal stimulus money might eventually make up for the cuts.
