(BREWTON, Ala.) July 4 - Members of the Brewton community are taking time today to remember a local man who fought and died for his country.

Cpl. Christopher Winchester was killed nearly four years ago while serving with the U.S. military in Iraq.

Today, his mother and members of the community gathered to dedicate a memorial to Winchester at East Brewton's new little league fields.

Winchester was a life-long resident of East Brewton, and a graduate of Flomation High School.

The memorial service held in his honor is the first memorial service to be held since Sgt. William Seay was killed in Vietnam.
