Big name country act performing at the 2009 Shrimp Festival

(GULF SHORES, Ala.) July 9 - There are 91 days before the 38th Annual National Shrimp Festival kicks off in Gulf Shores, and organizers say a big country star will light up the festival's stage.

Lee Ann Womack will headline the entertainment at this year's festival, performing Oct. 9. Other performers include the Modern Eldorados, the Alabama Blues Machine, the Sand band Foghat and the Tip Tops.

Each year, the festival features arts and crafts, music and seafood, including shrimp. Admission to the festival is free.

The National Shrimp Festival will be Oct. 8 - 11.
