(MOBILE, Ala.) - Local musicians came together at the Soul Kitchen to pay tribute to Ray Boykin.
Boykin was killed in October while trying to break up a fight at the Club Casino in Mobile. Thirty-one-year-old Jeremy McDaniels is charged with manslaughter in the case.
Boykin's friends put on a benefit to help raise money for his family. Many national musicians signed guitars and drum heads for an auction, along with other donations from local businesses.
Friends said the benefit concert was a celebration of the harmony of Boykin's life and music.
"First song we wrote was 'Name Your Price' everything that dude has done musically is incredible," said former band mate Joey Booker.
If you were unable to attend the event and would like to make a donation, there is an account for Boykin's family Century Bank.
