GULF SHORES (WPMI) It's that time of year again: Spring Break. What better place to spend it than near the beach. Realtors and condo owners are getting ready for the influx of visitors and for them, that means big bucks.
On a rainy day like Monday, you had to go inside to meet the spring breakers. Checking in Monday were college students mostly from Texas. A group we talked with say Gulf Shores is a tradition.
"A lot of people are renting condos or houses probably somewhere between 8 and 20 people staying in one," Isabel Glatthron said. "Usually affiliated with their sorority or fraternity so we are all together."
"Honestly I've been here about four or five times with my family every summer or every Spring Break even the 4th of July it's a good time," Ross Madden said.
The folks at Meyer Reality say Spring Break is at a 65 percent occupancy.
"We're up about 15 percent so we have four strong weeks with Easter week being the very strongest," Sarah Kuzma with Meyer Realty said.
