MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) The Bankhead Tunnel will be closed Saturday, March 9, for maintenance work.
Weather permitting, crews will be working in the tunnel Saturday, between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The tunnel will also close Friday, March 15, at 9 a.m., and reopen at 5 a.m. Monday. Crews will be reinstalling newly painted doors.
Traffic will be detoured through the Wallace Tunnel on Interstate 10.
