(MOBILE, Ala.) - Crimson Tide fans will be parked in front of a television Saturday watching the SEC Championship. And of course, there are the lucky ones who will be seated in the Georgia Dome watching it live.
Either way, Bama Nation will be decked out and flying the colors. The Tide may be the road team as far as the game is concerned, but when it comes to the SEC title game, Bama fans hit the road in full force.
The rush is on to buy the Bama gear and the Bama tickets. Debra Smith said it's chaos around Springdale Travel, and that's a good thing. They have a package ready to go. For $789 per person, you get two nights at the Marriot Atlanta Suites in Downtown, game day transportation and tickets in the upper end zone.
"It's always last minute. Anytime we do any of these kinds of trips, you have to put it together last minute because you have to watch and pray and sweat and cry and then at the last minute, you have to get it together," Smith said. "I tell people I'm really 25-years-old, but this job has aged me greatly cause it is really tough to get it together at the last minute, and there's always an influx of calls all of a sudden that you have to deal with and the packages sell out pretty quickly."
Bama Fever on Schillinger Road is also reaping the rewards. A lot of businesses from last week's Iron Bowl and this week's SEC title game. Fans like Mike Hattenstein, who's biceps show his colors, the Bama
"Somebody talked me into getting a tattoo a few years back, and said you better get what you really want put on there, so its the first thing that came to my mind. I got something I really wanted," said Bama fan Mike Hattenstein.
