(MOBILE, Ala.) June 3 - Investigators with the Mobile Fire-Rescue Bureau of Fire Prevention on-site of a fire at CATO Fashions say there is preliminary evidence the fire could have been intentionally set Tuesday night.
Fire officials say a customer found the fire at CATO Fashions on Moffett Road in Semmes as she was leaving a dressing room. Officials say the customer reported the fire to a store employee around 8 P.M., and the employee tried to put out the flames with a fire extinguisher before calling 911.
No injuries were reported in the fire, but officials estimate the fire caused $250,000 in damage CATO and other businesses in the shopping complex.
Investigators are asking anyone with information about the fire to call the Mobile Fire-Rescue Arson Hotline at (251) 208-MFRD.
