SELMA, Ala. (WPMI) Six young people have been arrested in Selma over an online video showing a lone teen boy being attacked by a gang.
18-year-old Alvin James Bolden and five juveniles face felony charges of compelling gang membership.
Selma police say a juvenile victim was assaulted on Jan. 19. by numerous suspects.
An investigation found at least six suspects were involved in the assault.
District Attorney Michael Jackson called the videotaped beating "a sad situation" and "a stark reminder" of what's going on in Selma.
The video shows the lone teen boy being surrounded by a group of teens. One of the teens punches the victim several times and then other teens join in the assault.
5 of the suspects were students of Southside High and 1 a student of Tipton Middle School.
The suspects were arrested Jan. 19.
All were charged with Compelling Street Gang Membership – Felony
Bolden was arrested given a $15,000 Bond.
The juveniles were transported to the Dallas County Detention Center
