(MOBILE, Ala.) July 4 - It is Independence Day, but not everyone along the Gulf Coast is spending the day grilling hamburgers and waiting for fireworks to light up the skies.
Members of a grassroots political group choose to spend their holiday weekend sans fireworks, fighting for independence from taxes and protesting through "TEA" parties. "TEA" stands for taxed enough already, and organizers say they are protesting government spending and the strain that spending is putting on an already struggling economy.
Parties were held in Mobile, Robertsdale and Eight Mile. Protesters say they believe taxpayers shouldn't continue to pay the bill for wasteful government expenditures.
Similar protests were held on April 15.
