Alabama Power Crews Start Damage Assessment, 23K Without Power

Alabama Power officials tell Local 15 News about 23,000 customers are without power as severe weather continues to rip across the city.

More than 26,000 are in the dark across the state.

The areas with the highest outages are Springdale, Downtown, Midtown, Prichard, Tillman's Corner and Theodore.

Crews are on the ground and working to assess the damage.

Local 15 News has crews in all of these areas. We'll update you on the power outage condition as soon as information is made available.
