MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A judge has sentenced a southern Alabama man to 99 years in prison on sexual abuse charges.

Al.com (http://bit.ly/ZggepU ) reports 36-year-old Adam James Parker, of Theodore, was sentenced Wednesday after being found guilty in November of sexually abusing a female relative. Information on the relationship between Parker and the victim was not immediately available.

In court, the victim said Parker began touching her inappropriately when she was 12, and escalated to performing sex acts over the next three years.

Parker has denied the allegations, and his defense attorney says he plans to appeal the judgment.

Parker must serve a minimum of 15 years in prison before becoming eligible for parole.
