(DECATUR, Ala.) Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley will participate in a news conference at the University of Montevallo to discuss the Virtual Alabama system that is being implemented on the university's campus.

Virtual Alabama is an imagery system that provides detailed mapping and other data to law enforcement officers, fire department personnel and other first responders in the event of an emergency. The system can also be used to help with day to day campus operations.

Bentley will discuss the system and view a video presentation at 2:30 p.m. Thursday in Wills Hall on the university's campus.

The governor will also travel to Decatur Thursday to speak at noon at a meeting of the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs of Decatur at the Decatur Country Club. He is expected to discuss job creation efforts in Alabama.
