(DOTHAN, Ala.) An Alabama Christmas festival gave local children a gift they don't see often fresh snow made from blocks of ice chopped up by a machine.

The Dothan Eagle reports there was enough manmade snow to cover a hill and allow for sled rides during the Dothan Downtown Christmas Festival. Never mind that it was 66 degrees outside.

The artificial winter wonderland was a hit with children attending the festival Saturday. Mike Dawn snapped photos of his granddaughter, 5-year-old Braelynn Napier, as she explored every inch of the artificial snow.

The frozen white flakes didn't last long in the warm temperatures. Mounds of manmade snow soon melted into water and went trickling down the curbside drains.
