This is a given ... not even newsworthy.

Brooks has enough problems here in Alabama to worry about, let alone comment on a law in NY. I personally have no problem with a ban on assault rifles and high capacity clips. Let licenced and bonded ranges have them so the can be used by their members. If the Government want to curtail these types of weapons, require the manufactures to pay a huge fee to manufacture them and the buyers to pay a surtax of thousands to purchase them. Problem solved with no ban! Kinda like cigarettes or gas guzzlers.

@H2L......and isn't that what most if not all politicians do? Bottom line is the police forces and federal government is currently ordering and buying millions up of the new guns. clips, and ammo that they don't want the US citizens to own. This verified current action should worry and concern everyone in the US.

Mo Brooks is an idiot...there needs to be a gun law in Alabama to keep guys like him from shooting themselves in the foot He is doing nothing but toeing the party line and pandering to his constituents!

I wonder if Joe Biden ever saw the movie "Colos" or "Gran Torino"? If not he really should, because most of the real violence is from the "Gangs".

Manti Teo' was a Academic All-American at Notre Dame in South Bend Indiana and has graduated already. This is a guy that is dunb as a box or rocks and he went to school in the Midwest, at a prestigious university no less. Southerners and Alabamaians are as smart as anyone in the US, why else does so much new and even old established industry and jobs move south to conduct their business? Cocal Cola, Airbus, UPS, FedEx, Hyundai, Toyota, Nissan, Ford, Kia, Austal, Thyssen Krupp, and Honda all have US plants located in the Deep South.

I believe that Mo Brooks was referring to the New York legislature which is dominated and controlled by city of New York politicians, NYC with a population of 7 million people and the other parts of the state having a fraction of people and residents. Anyone with a ounce of brains knows that New York City controls the state of New York in everything.

Had he taken the time to actually read the New York State Gun Law he would have seen it is a State Law not a city law.

If he had actually read the New York Gun Law he would have known it was a state law not a city law but again he is most likely the one in three that can't read.

Nothing surprises me in a state where one in three can't read.
