MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) The chairman of Airbus will speak in Mobile about airline suppliers moving to our area.
Chairman Allan McArtor met with Governor Robert Bentley Tuesday in Montgomery. The two are pushing for new legislation to bring more aviation jobs to Alabama.
Now, reports are circulating the Airbus is considering adding an additional assembly line to build the A-350 wide body jets. We have been told by an Airbus spokesperson that a decision has not been made.
Wednesday's meeting is for suppliers and potential suppliers to have a chance to get some information and to talk to the chairman and other Airbus officials in person.
The information session was scheduled to get underway at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. About 625 people are expected to attend.
With the meeting, we are really starting to get a look at the plans for Airbus.
