(MOBILE COUNTY, Ala.) The Mobile County Sheriffs Office has arrested five people in the last two days for cooking meth. Two of the people are relatives.
On Sunday, deputies arrived on Astro Drive in Wilmer where they found a "shake and bake" meth lab. MCSO say they found Leslie Platt and Shannon McClure in a camper, with the meth lab. Platt is charged with trafficking meth, manufacturing meth, possession of a controlled substance and felony possession of drug paraphernalia. McClure had an active warrant for her arrest and was taken to Metro Jail, as well, deputies say.
Early Monday morning, deputies were called to Moffett Road in Wilmer for reports of a working meth lab in a home. Brandon Garrettson, John Hicks and Derrick Platt were arrested. Derrick Platt is the nephew of Leslie Platt who was arrested the day before.
"We are successful with our Meth Initiative because the public has taken full advantage of the tools given to them," Sheriff Sam Cochran said in a release. "Through our Meth Text program and our Crime Tips we are continuously making arrest of pill shoppers and meth cooks and putting them in jail."
