MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) Chili lovers and cookers descended on downtown Mobile on Saturday for a good cause.
The American Cancer Society's 24th annual Chili Cook-Off was held at Bienville Square.
Festivities began at 11, and were be filled with hearty food, live entertainment and the chance to win prizes.
Teams competed to see who can cook-up the best chili in the community.
The Chili Cook-Off began in 1989. Over the years, the event has grown. In 2012, 126 teams participated in the cook-off and raised more than $250,000.
All proceeds will be used for local cancer educational programs, patient services and lifesaving research.
The overall winner of the Chili Cook-Off was the Southern Cancer Center.
