2 Teachers Arrested for Beating Student

(MONROEVILLE, Ala.) May 28 - Two Monroe County teachers were arrested on accusations they beat up a student at Earl's Place Club in Monroeville.

Monroe County officials arrested Makeva Scott, 30, and Phyllis Dortch, 28, on charges they beat up a 17-year-old high school student.

Incident happened Monday morning between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. during a party held for teenagers.

The 17-year-old girl ended up with three stitches to her face.

Scott and Dortch are teachers at Fresco City High School.

Authorities say the two women have been released on bond.
