(BAYOU LA BATRE, Ala.) Two of nine federal charges against Bayou La Batre Mayor Stan Wright were thrown out Thursday.
A U.S. District Judge said the wording was too vague in charges of stealing federal funds, and retaliation of a witness.
Sources tell LOCAL 15 News, federal investigators will re-word the relation charge, and are confident that a superceding indictment will be handed up from a Grand Jury in the next few weeks.
Jury selection in the trial of Wright, his daughter, and an employee who worked for the city, is set to begin March 5.
