MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) - 13 Mobile County Sheriff's deputies are moving up in the ranks.
Sheriff Sam Cochran says those being promoted have shown real determination.
He says they had to wait about a year while the positions were held open for them because of budgetary problems, but the department was finally able to earn enough money in the budget to fill the positions.
He says candidates had to take written exams, go through an interview process and prove their quality of work over the past three years.

Wayne K. Goolsby - Lieutenant
David C. Robinson - Lieutenant
Jason H. Arendall - Sergeant
Jeffrey W. Eiland - Sergeant
James Riddick - Sergeant
Johnny Thornton Sr. - Sergeant
Robert Constantine - Corporal
Terri S. Hall – Corporal
Johnny M. Miller - Corporal
William Andrew Peak - Corporal
Lorne M. Watts - Corporal
