And the choice of a .380 is a poor one indeed. A .40S&W is the smallest caliber anyone should consider carrying as a .380 is not going to do the job in most cases, especially during winter when people wear layers of clothing. I would avoid even the 9mm as it doesn't provide the impact I want in a pistol cartridge. Most women can handle a .40S&W and even a manly woman like Ashley Rich could handle a .45ACP with practice. An alternative to a pistol is the Taurus Judge which fires both .45LC and .410 shotgun shells. S&W makes the Governor which fires the .45LC, .45ACP, and the .410 shotgun shell. A woman could hardly miss firing a .410 000 buckshot from one of either of those two revolvers.
