(LOXLEY, Ala.) July 1 -- The eastbound lanes on Interstate 10 near the Loxley exit are now back open, after two 18 wheelers crashed and exploded Wednesday afternoon. The westbound lanes are still closed. NBC 15 News has learned two people died in the crash.

Baldwin County Sheriff's deputies tell NBC 15 News that both drivers of the 18 wheelers are unaccounted for.

Deputies are calling the accident a "massive explosion."

Alabama State Troopers say it appears the driver of an 18-wheeler going Eastbound, crossed the median and crashed into an 18-wheeler traveling Westbound. That truck was carrying new BMW's.
