(SARALAND, Ala.) Authorities say a high speed chase that began in Mobile ended when a truck slammed into a gas station in Saraland.
It happened at the Gas-N-Go at Highway 43 and Skidmore.
Witnesses say the truck ran into the gas station and it exploded. We've learned the truck was being chased by Mobile Police.
Police say the car was reported stolen on Laurel Drive this afternoon. Mobile Police spotted the vehicle and began the pursuit. They chased the suspect up Highway 43 headed to Saraland. At one point, police say, the car was going more than 100 miles per hour. The driver lost control and rolled into a gas pump at the Gas-N-Go.
Witnesses on the scene told Local 15's John Dzenitis the vehicle flipped and skidded into the gas pumps, causing the fire.
Both suspects in the vehicle were taken to an area hospital with what appeared to be very serious injuries. Their conditions are not known at this time.
A third person at the gas station was treated for minor injuries on the scene.
Both Mobile and Saraland police departments were involved in the chase.
