(DAPHNE, Ala.) Baldwin County school officials have closed Daphne East Elementary and Daphne Middle School until further notice.

They're closing because of a water contamination in the Belforest Water System.

David Lyles with Belforest Water System says the Baldwin County Sewer System was putting in a sewer line at a new house on Rigsby Road when they tapped into the water system's pipes -- instead of the sewer line.

Lyles says Baldwin County Sewer System workers are on the scene tonight repairing the problem, but it could take a couple of days to test the water after the system has been flushed.

If Belforest Water is your water supplier, you should boil all of your water before drinking it or cooking with it.

If you have Daphne Utilities Water, the boil water notice does not apply to you.
